Why was Heath Ledger's body face down and naked on the bedroom floor?

Not necessarily. He had a VERY large amount of sedatives in his system. Eventually they rendered him unconcious before depressing his respiratory system to the point of killing him. Whenever they physically "knocked him out", he couldn't really control where or in what position he ped out. So face down and naked is just how he ended up.
