Need help with my dvd/rw driver MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ-120 ATA DEVICE possably registry error..i.t in study?

i have a hp pavilion i installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit..and i have an error about 1 month after i installed it. the error is my cd dvd drive isnt reading disks. the driver in the device mannager is corrupt and when i try to fix it it willl start to then give me an error message. i hade this problam before and it was a registry error from an old game i installed but that was on xp.. any help woul be nice.
