Is it possible for no positive result...?

on an ovulation test?? Is there a possibility that you will miss the detection of the LH surge even if you test everyday at the same time?? If so...is there another way to predict when you ovulate besides the tests and tracking your BBT?? When would be the best time to BD? and is it more effective to BD everyday or every other day??
