Skellig Michael??? Little Island?

Hi Im from the north and I think my parents an I are going down to kerry in August for a weekend break, Ive always wanted to go to skellig michael, you know the island monastry, on tv it looks fantastic but im not sure how accessible it is to tourists. Is there aything like a day tour?? Has anyone been, what do you think???
